1. Advertising – The Inside Story
Duration: 28 minutes
The program examines how the ad agency works in the context of what it must do for the client and the target market, the roles of the ad agency workers at Ogilvy and Mather, some early TV advertisements of the 1950s and 1960s, and how the industry has changed. In the second half of the program, we meet the client, Monsanto, makers of the herbicide, Roundup. What follows then is an account of how O & M went about creating a successful advertising campaign for Roundup, culminating in the famous Blue Heeler TV advertisement.
2. Animation in Multimedia
Duration: 29 minutes
This program takes students through the elements of creating a successful animation. Beginning with the various methods of creating an animation, the program then explores the stages and aspects of animations, including character development, backgrounds, adding sound and voice and the use of wire frame in 3D work. We look at the various roles in an animation team, including producers, directors, computer technicians, artists and voice actors and some applications of animation such as computer games, advertisements and film.
3. Event Management
Duration: 29 minutes
This program provides a behind-the-scenes look at the staging of a significant series of events from the Eureka 150 held in Ballarat, Victoria in 2005. This historic event incorporated activities and entertainment targeted at many groups, with much community involvement. This program explores the stages of organizing a large event, the planning, leading and controlling required, finishing up with the criteria to successfully evaluate an event.
