The program delves into three complete case studies in corporate, social, and school settings and investigates content, delivery and the speech all covered in an enlightening and engaging way.
2. Know and understand your Skills
Duration: 25 minutes
This careers program is targeted to students in Years 10-12. It examines identifying students' skill base, understanding the concept of transferable skills and conducting a skills audit. Students are shown how to apply this information to a resume. The program covers the Mayer competencies and how they are applied across the curriculum.
3. Making Effective Notes
Duration: 20 minutes
This program examines why we make notes and details a variety of note taking techniques. Its premise is that note taking is an important part of student activity in any subject area but is often a skill that we do not teach. The concepts of 'Breaking Down the Elephant' and the 'Alice Process' are explained. Other aspects covered include: clarity of purpose, establishing a personal note taking style, lists and mind maps, symbols and abbreviations, using cue cards, and using the notes that you have made.
